JOB DESCRIPTION: Insight Global is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Engineer to support utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects throughout Florida. This individual will provide technical leadership and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including development, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and turnover. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting utility-scale renewable generation projects and be comfortable working with project managers, engineering consultants, contractors, and operations teams in both office and field environments. Support utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects throughout the project lifecycle. Review engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings, and contractor deliverables. Provide technical support during design, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities. Identify and resolve technical issues impacting project execution, reliability, and safety. Conduct site visits and collaborate with contractors, consultants, and operations personnel.
MUST HAVES: 6+ years of engineering experience supporting utility, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Experience supporting projects through engineering design and construction phases. Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, power systems, or renewable energy projects. Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation. PLUSSES:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET accredited)ETAP or SKMNERCTransmission-connected renewable generationPE License Additional Details: Expected to extend beyond 2027 Preferred location is St. Petersburg, FL (other Florida locations considered).Frequent travel throughout Florida. Approximately 3 days/week onsite at project locations. Mix of office engineering work and field oversight.
