About the role

Biomedical Electrical Engineer
Company: ZetrOZ Systems
Location: Trumbull, CT (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Mid-level (2–4 years of experience)
Company Overview: ZetrOZ Systems is a pioneering healthcare technology company focused on developing non-invasive bioelectronic systems that accelerate natural tissue healing and relieve acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain. As the creators of the clinically proven sam® (Sustained Acoustic Medicine) device family, we deliver wearable, home-use medical technologies that improve the quality of life for millions of patients globally. We collaborate extensively with the U.S. Government and top-tier research institutions to push the boundaries of soft-tissue therapeutic solutions.
Role Summary: We are seeking a Biomedical Electrical Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our product development and engineering team. In this on-site role, you will bridge the gap between biomedical needs and electrical hardware execution. You will be responsible for the hands-on engineering, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of our wearable bioelectronic devices. This role requires a strong balance of electrical hardware prototyping (PCBA), risk analysis, and validation within an FDA-regulated medical device framework.
Key Responsibilities: Hardware & Systems Engineering: Support the design, modification, and optimization of low-power electrical circuits, PCBA layouts, and embedded software systems for wearable medical tech. Testing & Verification: Lead component-level and system-level validation, executing strict testing protocols on electrical hardware to guarantee performance, signal integrity, and battery efficiency. Regulatory Compliance: Prepare documentation and perform IEC testing (including IEC 60601-1 and home-use medical device safety standards) to ensure strict adherence to FDA guidelines. Risk Management & Failure Analysis: Participate in Risk Analysis (FMEA) processes specifically tailored to home-use medical systems. Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting on complex electrical device malfunctions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with mechanical engineers, clinical researchers, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to seamlessly transition designs from prototype to scaled production.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering (with an electrical or mechanical focus), or a closely related technical field.
Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on engineering experience, ideally within a regulated medical device setting, healthcare technology space, or high-reliability hardware industry.
What We Offer: We value our team's commitment and provide a competitive, well-rounded rewards package to support your professional and personal well-being: Comprehensive Healthcare: Premium health for you and your dependents. Retirement Security: 401(k) retirement plan options to help you save for the future.
Excellent Benefits: Package: Includes competitive paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and opportunities for continuous professional development in a cutting-edge field.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
