About the role
HYBRID CDL DRIVER & TRAILER TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Trailer and Tanker Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, and repairs on company-owned trailers and customer equipment. This position combines over-the-road and local driving responsibilities with hands-on trailer maintenance, ensuring company owned vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational as well as completing service orders for customers in a timely and accurate manner. Trailer Technician Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on trailers and related equipment. Diagnose and repair brake systems, wheel seals, bearings, suspension systems, electrical systems, wiring, and lighting. Inspect trailers for DOT compliance and safety requirements. Perform structural repairs to trailers including floors, doors, sidewalls, and landing gear. Troubleshoot ABS systems and air brake components. Complete maintenance documentation accurately. Minimum 2 years trailer maintenance or mechanical experience. Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspection requirements. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and safely operate tools and equipment. Combination of driving, shop, yard, and field environments. May require overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
