Job Overview: Long Shot Ammo and Arms is not just a gun shop, there is so much more to explore! Not only does Long Shot Ammo and Arms provide a wide range of products and services for shooters, hunters, collectors, and protectors, it also provides various recreational ranges including axe throwing, indoor/outdoor gun ranges and it’s very own Swift Safariland museum that displays over a hundred animal trophies from around the world. Long Shot Ammo & Arms is currently looking for a Retail Store Manager, an individual with strong leadership skills, who can effectively lead our team and develop new innovative ways to promote sales while staying current and informed on latest products.
Duties: Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to ensure they meet performance standards and grow professionally. Manage employee orientation programs and conduct ongoing training & development initiatives. Maintain optimal inventory levels through purchasing, stock management, pricing strategies, and inventory control procedures. Implement effective merchandising plans to enhance product presentation and maximize sales opportunities. Monitor store performance metrics, manage budgets, and develop operational plans to achieve sales targets while controlling costs. Foster a positive team environment through strong managerial communication, leadership skills, and motivating staff. Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and legal regulations related to retail operations. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Experience Proven management experience in the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and store operations management. Demonstrated success in supervising teams with strong organizational skills and time management abilities. Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, purchasing procedures, and basic math for financial transactions. Knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales management techniques, budgeting practices, and operational management principles. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Prior experience in cashiering, cash handling, payroll processing, bookkeeping or retail store product knowledge is highly advantageous.
