About the role
Maintenance leadership in manufacturing; strong industrial electrical/mechanical troubleshooting; PLC/controls; pneumatics/hydraulics; CMMS and preventive maintenance; team development; safety compliance; third-shift availability. Food or packaging experience preferred. Lead third-shift maintenance of mechanical and robotic production equipment. This position combines approximately 70% hands-on work with 30% desk-based responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate maintenance and repairs to meet production requirements and reduce downtime.
- Provide hands-on technical support during breakdowns.
- Manage preventive maintenance using PRISMA and coordinate repair schedules with operations and mechanics.
- Assign priorities, work and resources; ensure technicians have materials, tools, drawings and inspection gauges.
- Support hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Develop daily, weekly and monthly schedules within budget and recommend equipment investments.
- Train, coach and evaluate employees, including performance reviews and disciplinary processes when needed.
- Coordinate with other departments to improve safety, compliance, quality, output and cost.
- Follow company safety policies and GMP, complete mandatory food-safety training, and recognize and address food-safety hazards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of electromechanical or maintenance supervisor experience in heavy industry or food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, production/maintenance reporting software and CMMS.
- Ability to read mechanical, structural and electrical drawings.
- Good working knowledge of SQF requirements and safe food handling.
- Ability and willingness to work in noisy, dusty, non-air-conditioned or unheated manufacturing areas and in high and low temperatures indoors and outdoors.
- Commitment to promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
- Availability for third shift.
