- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., Optometric Assisting) preferred
- Previous clinical experience in an eye-care or outpatient setting preferred
- Current Optometric Technician/Optometric Assistant certification preferred, but not required
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and other employees
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform a variety of tasks and skills in the area of assignment
- Ability to maintain quality, safety and infection-control standards
