Department: Veterinary Technology Location: Western Campus Reports To: Lab Supervisor, Veterinary Technology Recruitment Type: Internal Employment Type: Student Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Days To Be Determined By Hiring Manager And Student Job Description: Learning Objectives: Participants will: Develop proficiency in basic animal care and husbandry skills. Learn proper time management, organization, and workplace professionalism. Build responsibility, accountability, and teamwork skills. Gain experience working under supervision while following directions independently. Develop an appreciation for compassionate, ethical animal care. Provide positive interaction and enrichment for animals housed in the Veterinary Technology Program. Learn to work safely and effectively in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor animal care during inclement weather. Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester; Maintain satisfactory academic progress; Adhere to College's confidentiality policy; Successfully pass background/drug screening; Answer phone and take messages; Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing; Open and sort mail; Strong interpersonal communication skills; Willingness to learn new technology; Assist with special projects; Other duties as assigned.
