About the role
Interim Enterprise Charge Strategy & Cost Analyst
Confidential Multi-Campus Health System
Remote
Warbird Healthcare Advisors is recruiting an interim/fractional consultant for a rare, high-impact seat: owning the seam between supply cost, chargemaster, and payer reimbursement at a multi-campus health system.
This is a build, not a maintenance job. You'll create an enterprise charge strategy methodology from scratch, model the financial impact of every recommendation, and take it to the CFO - not into a queue.
What you'll do:
Determine how supply and procedural costs should be represented in the charge structure
Build and validate financial models (gross revenue, expected reimbursement, NPSR, margin) for every recommendation
Partner with Revenue Integrity, Supply Chain, and Finance to implement and test approved changes
What we're looking for:
7+ years in hospital revenue integrity, reimbursement, chargemaster, or healthcare financial analysis
Hands-on OPPS/IPPS reimbursement experience - packaging, cost-to-charge ratios, and beyond
A track record of modeling a charge change's financial impact before implementation, then validating it against actual remittance
Comfort writing your own SQL/queries, not waiting on IT for reports
Bachelor's in finance, accounting, health administration, HIM, or related field
Bonus:
multi-EHR experience (e.g., Cerner/Oracle Health + Meditech), CCS/COC/CPC/RHIA/CRCR/CHFP credential, prior consulting or interim work
This role sits at the intersection of four departments that rarely talk to each other - supply chain, chargemaster, payer contracts, and financial modeling. If you've ever been the person translating between all four, this is built for you.
Engagement is roughly 3-4 days/week, largely remote, for approximately four months with a lighter tail. Backed by Warbird's reimbursement bench.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
