About the role

Talent does not always translate into achievement. A capable cybersecurity professional may understand the threats yet struggle to explain a vulnerability, communicate during an incident, or present their findings with clarity and confidence. Sohaara exists to close that last mile, from talent to high achievement. We are an impact company, helping people turn what they know into what they can accomplish. For our 16-week Cybersecurity Work Readiness Program, we’re seeking an experienced cybersecurity practitioner who can also coach emerging professionals in technical communication.
What you will bring: At least 7 years of relevant industry experience, including substantial hands-on experience in security engineering, security operations, cloud security, application security, or incident response. Experience at major US technology companies recognized for engineering excellence, such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Apple, NVIDIA, or comparable organizations. Practical fluency in the terminology and workflows of threat assessment, vulnerability management, security controls, detection, investigation, and incident response. Excellent spoken English, with the ability to explain complex technical work accurately to different audiences and teach others to do the same. Experience writing or reviewing vulnerability reports, security assessments, incident updates, investigation summaries, and remediation recommendations. Strong mentoring or teaching skills, including the ability to diagnose communication weaknesses and provide specific, actionable feedback.
What you will do: • Help participants use cybersecurity terminology accurately and naturally.• Coach them to explain vulnerabilities, attack scenarios, technical evidence, business risks, and remediation priorities.• Develop practical exercises around real workplace situations: presenting a security assessment, escalating a suspicious event, briefing colleagues during an incident, or explaining remediation to an engineering team.• Help participants write clear, actionable security documentation.• Strengthen their ability to present projects, answer technical interview questions, and respond confidently to follow-up questions.• Give individualized feedback that improves clarity, precision, structure, and technical credibility. Why Sohaara Your experience can help talented people around the world, particularly in developing markets, communicate their capabilities and contribute with greater confidence. This is an opportunity to make your expertise consequential in someone else’s professional future. Commitment: Two groups of eight participants, with one 90-minute live session per group every two weeks for 16 weeks, 24 live delivery hours per cohort.
Compensation: $120 per live delivery hour. Apply at jobs@sohaara.com with your CV and a brief example of a presentation or coaching you delivered in a cybersecurity environment. Explain your role and how you helped others communicate complex technical work, without disclosing confidential information.#Cybersecurity #Technical Communication #Security Engineering #Hiring #Impact #Sohaara

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
