About the role

Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities. The UT Tyler School of Medicine – Department of Surgery is currently recruiting for a faculty member who practices colorectal surgery. The applicant must be Board-Certified or eligible in General Surgery, have completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of the appointment, and be eligible for a Texas Medical License.
Qualifications: MD or DO degree required. Board-Certified or eligible in General Surgery. Completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of appointment. Eligible for a Texas Medical License. Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery.
Responsibilities:
  • All aspects of providing colorectal surgical procedures at a high-functioning Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School of Medicine, including medical education of residents and surgical fellows.
  • Committed to patient care, resident, fellow and medical student education and scholarly activity advancing clinical medicine.
  • Educational responsibilities include the clinical training of general surgery residents and colorectal surgery fellows.
