Overview: Truity Partners is partnering with a nonprofit organization to identify an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to support its payroll team through a Workday implementation. This is a hands-on role for someone who can provide day-to-day oversight of the payroll function while also playing an active role in implementation activities, testing, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of the payroll team
  • Support day-to-day payroll operations for approximately 4,000 employees
  • Partner with Finance, HR, IT, and Workday consultants throughout the implementation
  • Participate heavily in payroll testing, system validation, and implementation readiness
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues and help strengthen processes and controls
  • Provide onsite leadership and support to the team throughout the transition
Ideal Background:
  • Previous Payroll Manager or higher payroll leadership experience
  • Must be proficient with Workday (2+ years of recent experience) Workday implementation experience strongly preferred - open to candidates with other major implementation experience, including testing and UATExperience supporting a large, complex payroll environment
  • Strong team leadership and cross-functional communication skills
  • Higher education or nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required
  • Must be local to the Chicago area and comfortable with a hybrid schedule
Compensation: $60 - $70/hr. (based on experience and overall fit)
