Neuroscience Department Research Position The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science department that focuses on cutting-edge research in the areas of synapse development and function, sensory systems, and complex behavior, cognitive neuroscience, and behavioral neurobiology. The faculty within the department is also extensively involved with the Graduate School of Biomedical Science Program in Neuroscience as well as teaching within the medical school. Under close supervision of the Principal Investigator, the individual will conduct a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. The primary functions of this position include: 1) Genotyping and managing a mouse colony, 2) Preparation of solutions and reagents, 3) laboratory tasks, and 4) assisting with experimental procedures including animal behavior, biochemical techniques, and electrophysiology recordings. Conducting animal behaviors, biochemical and electrophysiology experiments, and documenting data under researcher guidance Monitors animal colony, genotyping, collecting tissue samples and maintains census records General laboratory tasks (making solutions, inventory) Assisting lab members with experiments
Basic Requirements: Knowledge and experience typically acquired by: Bachelor's Degree in science
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
Pay Range: Minimum $20.90, Midpoint $24.90, Maximum $28.90 Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
