What You'll Do:
As a Pet Therapy Volunteer, you and your therapy animal will: Visit hospice patients in homes or care facilities Offer calm, comforting companionship and emotional support Create moments of joy, relaxation, and connection for patients and families Work alongside hospice staff to ensure safe, respectful visits Follow all hospice, safety, and infection-control guidelines Who We're Looking For Certified therapy animals and handlers (or those willing to become certified) Calm, well-trained pets who enjoy gentle interaction Compassionate, dependable volunteers with strong communication skills Ability to respect patient boundaries, cultural differences, and confidentiality A shared commitment to dignity and comfort at end of life Why Volunteer With Sage Hospice?
