OVERVIEW: Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in the US providing a wide range of Energy-related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Claims Attorney / Claims Adjuster – Outside Counsel Management. Job # 26-01208 TITLE: Claims Attorney / Claims Adjuster – Outside Counsel Management LOCATION: Onsite Role at 4 Irving Place New York, NY 10003
DURATION: 12 months, extension based on performance.
Pay Rate: $80.00/hr. – $85.00/hr W2 (depending upon experience)
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Claims Attorney or Litigation Claims Professional to join an Outside Counsel Management team supporting a high-volume portfolio of 100+ active litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and evaluate a portfolio of litigated liability claims handled by outside counsel Partner with defense attorneys and review litigation strategy, case updates, motions and mediation materials Assess liability, damages, exposure, reserves and settlement value Review and provide recommendations on settlement requests and claim disposition Monitor litigation costs and review outside counsel legal bills/e-bills Provide guidance and recommendations on case strategy, valuation and resolution
Required Qualifications: Strong experience managing litigated claims or litigation matters Proven outside defense counsel management experience Experience with case valuation, reserves, settlement authority and litigation strategy Experience handling high-volume litigation portfolios, ideally 100+ active matters New York liability litigation experience strongly preferred Background in premises liability, motor vehicle/auto liability, general liability or casualty claims is highly relevant Experience with claims/case management systems such as Guidewire, Claim Center, Litify, Legal Files or similar is a plus Ideal Background: Senior Litigation Claims Professionals / Claims Examiners / Claims Adjusters or Attorneys with claims, litigation management or outside counsel management experience.
