Role Description:
The Scrap Yard Material Handler (BONUS CLASS A CDL) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pendleton, IN. This role is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving scrap materials using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, or other yard machinery. (Excavator experience a PLUS) Daily tasks include sorting and organizing materials, preparing items for shipping, assisting with receiving and inspection of incoming loads, and maintaining the yard.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated skills in Shipping & Receiving to manage incoming and outgoing materials and documentation. Experience with Unloading and Material Handling to safely move, sort, and stage scrap and recyclable materials. Valid CDL license Class A is a PLUS with a clean driving record and familiarity with DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Comfort working in an outdoor, industrial environment and using forklifts, loaders, or similar equipment. Strong attention to safety procedures, ability to follow instructions, and readiness to use personal protective equipment. Reliable attendance, ability to lift and move heavy materials, and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in a scrap yard, warehouse, or industrial setting is an advantage as well as CDL intrastate experience.
