Mig/Tig Welder Location: Houston, TX 77073 Pay Rate: Depending on Experience Shift: Job Description Welder I Welder I / Grinder Job Description The Welder will be responsible for the hard metal application of stabilizer blades. All Welders are also required to adhere to all safety and quality policies implemented by Client.
Education:
GED or High School Diploma preferred Experience: 1 year hard metal application preferred Previous shop technician and grinder experience helpful Qualifications: Ability to communicate on technical issues. Ability to record tool specifications for quality and performance purposes Must be able to read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprints Must be able to read, interpret and follow work instructions Job Duties: Welding (MIG, TIG and Buildup) Grinding (manual machine and hand grinding) Clipper Lathe operations Processing repair items per DTI Repair Ticket requirements Utilizing proper ring gauge sizes and performing ring gauge inspection Wirefed hard facing Buff tools and perform dry powder inspections Crane operations General clean up and organization of welder's work area Other duties as assigned Work Environment The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme outside temperatures and Industrial hygiene regulated activities identified as potentially actionable according to OSHA standards. Including Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection and HAZCOM programs. Procedures are developed at each facility to minimize all risks and hazards through control measures.

Welder I Physical Demand Description Sit/Stand 10% of the time is spent sitting while completing paperwork or attending meetings 90% of the time is spent standing while welding on tools for 8 - 12 hour shifts 5 - 7 days a week Walk 10% of the standing time requires walking around the shop to get supplies Use of hands/fingers 85% of the time uses hands while welding, grinding or cleaning tools Climbing (stairs or ladders) or balance Rarely climbs stairs or ladders Rarely has to balance, mostly stationery standing Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 20% occasionally stoops over tools while welding or grinding Rarely kneel, crouch or crawl Communicate (Talk/Hear) Must be able to hear and discern any emergency/facility alarms Must be able to hear, understand or convey verbal instructions or issues Must be able to hear or discern issues with tools or welding equipment Communicate (Written/Verbal) Must be able to record written measurements for the quality control paperwork Must be able to verbally convey instructions on issues with tools Vision Safety sensitive position, must be able to clearly see and identify all moving parts Must have clear depth perception Carry weight, lifting Frequently while machining carries gauges up to 50 lbs Rarely would be required to lift more than 50 lbs Crane available for heavier items Exposure Is occasionally exposed to extreme outside temperatures Industrial hygiene regulated activities identified as potentially actionable
