About the role
ROLE OVERVIEW:
This role provides administrative and operational support to the firm’s advisors in delivering a comprehensive client wealth management experience through financial planning, insurance and investment planning and exceptional customer service. This role provides specialized support related to insurance client services issues, addressing day to day client concerns and issues as well as communicating with other team members. The role encompasses insurance operations and client service responsibilities. INSURANCE OPERATIONS
- Preparing and processing all paperwork needed for opening insurance policies
- Preparing and processing all paperwork needed for changes to existing insurance policies
- Managing the underwriting process including gathering outstanding requirements, application completion and submission, and identifying additional requirements throughout the process
- Interacting and building a strong rapport directly with clients in providing service, support and general insurance inquiries
- Coordinating and communicating with the Northwestern Mutual Home Office throughout the underwriting process
- Monitoring Work Manager and the Daily Service Report (DSR) for alerts and requirements
- Managing open case opportunities and track progress to drive business results and delivery system effectiveness
- Supporting the firm’s advisor teams with preparation of illustrations for insurance proposals and recommendations
- Participating, as needed, in the case prep process by running in-force ledgers, proposed illustrations, and evaluating new NM and non-NM insurance options Preparing and processing all paperwork needed for investment/advisory accountsCLIENT SERVICE
- Corresponding with clients to handle insurance related service issues and questions
- Contacting clients on behalf of the firm to provide explanation of insurance recommendations
- Assisting clients with overdue payments, policy change needs, and beneficiary updates
- Providing support and guidance to clients throughout the underwriting process
- Formulating insurance solutions for a client or explaining insurance products
- Discussing tax consequences, premium options, cash value and conversion mechanics with client
- Maintaining daily system for account follow-ups and service requirementsQUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Economics preferred)
- Health and Life licensed
- Insurance industry experience required; Northwestern Mutual experience preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications and data entry and information retrieval software
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to practice active listening and communicate in a direct manner
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple diverse projects and assignments in a timely and quality manner
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to embrace change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work both independently and on a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
