About the role
As a museum docent for the Paleo Preserve Fossil Museum the volunteer enjoys the opportunity to share the amazing history of Florida's fossil past. Opening the museum, greeting visitors, providing a dig area for young fossil hunters, and offering unique gifts for sale are a few of the tasks that will occupy time. But, most importantly, is the opportunity for the volunteer to learn about fossils as they man the museum. You don't need to have prior knowledge. All you need is interest and enthusiasm to share this tiny but important museum with the public. Thank you!!1 shift available: Paleo Preserve Fossil Museum is only open on Saturdays, 9 am until 2 pm. Volunteers are encouraged to pick at least one Saturday a month to work.: 09:00 to 14:00 EST
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
