About the role
Supporting the Optical Distribution Network design and integration, the full-time Staff Fiber Optics System Engineer will manage the design, development, and validation of fiber networks for quantum systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
Support end-to-end system fiber link architecture connecting subsystems, PICs, and control systems
Create detailed fiber designs for complex optical distribution networks, including routing and splice plans
Work with vendors to evaluate and qualify advanced fiber optic components for quantum computing applications
Required qualifications:
M.S. or PhD in Physics, Optical, or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of industry experience
5+ years of experience designing, validating, and testing fiber networks and optical systems
Experience with optical test equipment, including power meters and optical spectrum analyzers
Proficiency in Python for software controls and developing test methods
Experience in product lifecycles, transitioning from R&D to product development
