About the role

Ignite! Utah is a nonpartisan group getting young people in Utah to vote. We're hiring canvassers now to talk with Gen Z voters, mostly in Salt Lake City, and get them to sign a Pledge to Vote card. You'll knock doors and set up at places where young people already hang out. You start real conversations, explain the pledge, and collect the card. We don't tell anyone who to vote for. We just want them to show up. What the job looks like Talk to Gen Z voters at doors and at sites around SLC Get Pledge to Vote cards filled out and turned in Turn up on time for your shifts and trainings Be on your feet and outside in fall weather Who we want You're 18 or older and you're fine talking to strangers, including the ones who say no. You don't need canvassing experience, and we'll train you. You don't need a car. Pay and schedule$20 an hour. You work 10 to 30 hours a week, and you pick your hours within that. Most shifts are in the evening. We're hiring immediately, you can start right away, and the job ends about a week before Election Day. This is an independent contractor position (W-9), and you'll report to Conner.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
