About the role
- This is a hands-on commercial role for someone who wants to help build a market, rather than inherit an established sales organisation.
- You'll work closely with senior leadership to develop the US commercial strategy while personally owning and closing strategic opportunities.
- Initially, this will be an individual contributor role with significant influence over how the US sales function develops, with the opportunity to take on broader leadership responsibility as the business scales.
- You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and executing the US sales strategy
- Building relationships with utilities, energy retailers, aggregators, asset owners and other energy-market participants
- Creating and managing a high-quality enterprise pipeline
- Leading complex sales processes from initial engagement through to commercial close
- Identifying new customer segments, partnerships and routes to market
- Working closely with product and technical teams throughout the sales process
- Providing market intelligence that helps shape product and GTM strategy
- Helping establish the commercial processes, messaging and structure required to scale
- Supporting the future development of the US commercial team
- DERMS | VPP | Demand Response | Energy Flexibility | Grid Software | Utility Software | Energy SaaS | Distributed Energy Resources
- You'll understand how utilities and energy companies buy technology and be comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
- Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can create opportunities rather than simply manage an existing pipeline.
- You should be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where you'll have considerable autonomy and the opportunity to directly influence the growth of the US business.
- You'll have direct access to senior leadership, significant influence over commercial strategy and the opportunity to help establish a major part of the company's future growth.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
