About the role
- Manage the daily operations of the dietary department
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and facility regulations
- Oversee meal planning, food preparation, and service delivery
- Monitor food quality, sanitation, and safety standards
- Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with menu development and dietary modifications
- Supervise, train, and support dietary staff
- Maintain inventory and food supply controls
- Conduct quality assurance audits and implement process improvements
- Promote resident satisfaction through excellent customer service and dining experiences
- Ensure documentation and departmental records remain accurate and compliant
- RequiredCurrent Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of dietary regulations, food service operations, and sanitation standards
- Experience supervising dietary or food service staff
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- PreferredExperience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation Center, Healthcare Facility, or Assisted Living Community
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition services
- Experience with healthcare dietary compliance and survey readiness
