Arrowhead Talent Solutions is assisting a reputable manufacturer in the greater Canton area on a search for their next Director of Finance.
POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an accomplished Senior Finance Leader to drive end-to-end financial strategy, operational excellence, and governance for our Canton OH division. In this executive role, you will serve as a key member of the divisional leadership team and a trusted advisor to senior management. You will bridge long-range corporate strategy with day-to-day manufacturing finance, overseeing FP&A, cost accounting, operational reporting, internal controls, and finance operations across multi-plant locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership & Executive Partnership: Executive Advisory: Partner with the Divisional VP/General Manager and corporate leadership to shape business strategy, capital allocation, and long-term operating plans. Corporate Alignment: Serve as the division’s primary finance voice in corporate leadership forums—sharing best practices, aligning goals, and executing enterprise-wide financial excellence. Business Partnering: Collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to evaluate growth opportunities, pricing strategies, and capital investments.
Financial Planning & Operational Analysis (FP&A): Planning & Forecasting: Lead annual operating plans (AOP), long-range strategic financial models, budgets, and monthly rolling forecasts. Performance Management: Monitor, benchmark, and evaluate divisional performance against strategic objectives; translate financial metrics into actionable operational improvements.
Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting: Cost Accounting Leadership: Oversee product costing models, standard cost rollups, variance analyses (labor, material, overhead), and inventory valuations across multi-plant sites. Plant Operations: Guide plant controllers and operations teams in identifying cost-reduction opportunities, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
Financial Operations, Reporting & Governance: Financial Close & Reporting: Direct accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and corporate policies. Shared Operations Oversight: Provide overall direction for core accounting functions, including General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, and Payroll. Internal Controls & Risk Management: Maintain a rigorous internal control environment, safeguard physical and financial assets, and ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit standard practices.
Talent Leadership & Organizational Development: Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing multi-site finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Process Enhancement: Modernize financial reporting tools, streamline processes, and leverage ERP capabilities to improve team efficiency and analytical accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation & Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Required).CPA and/or MBA (Highly Preferred).Experience & Technical Skills 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments.2+ years as a Division Controller or Director of Finance managing multi-plant/multi-site operations. Expertise across cost accounting, plant financial controls, FP&A, ERP systems, and executive reporting. Proven track record of driving margin expansion, working capital improvements, and operational transformations.
