From clients to team members to subcontractors, we seek to be the best to work with and for.Learn more about Lakewood Architecture by clicking here!Summary of Position:The Architect will plan and design, and/or facilitate the execution of new building designs, and plan, design and/or facilitate the execution of building expansions or renovations according to clients' needs, desires, and financial resources.Primary Responsibilities:Understand Architectural Practice Leader's expectations throughout each phase of theproject.Review and understand project scope and contractual obligations for each project / professional services agreement.Identifies, through consultation, clients' requirements, approximate budget, timetable, and possible needs for future expansion.Determines clients' preferences regarding materials, styles, colors, and other variables.Attempts to identify through collaboration clients' priorities in terms of needs vs. desires.Assists clients in defining their priorities and vision by preparing 3D renderings of various options.Coordinate Project Team and collaboration with all disciplines by leading the development of:Project Plans & SpecificationsCode Review and ComplianceCommunication and exchange of information amongst all team membersResponsible for creating and organizing the followingDocument format & presentationDocument Review and AccuracyMaintaining design schedule and meeting deadlinesCreates detailed architectural plans integrating civil engineering, structural engineering, electrical, and HVAC, and fire protection documents; presents plans to clients for review and approval.Modifies new or existing plans as required.Prepares drawings and specifications as required to secure bids.Collaborates with estimator and project manager to select trade contractors.Collaborates with construction team to facilitate the building process to ensure timely completion of projects within budget.Performs other related duties as assigned.Oversees and mentors Architectural Designers to ensure project success.Work closely with the Architectural Practice Leader to create renderings, site layouts and other graphics as needed to support project pursuit efforts.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Extremely proficient with Revit & EnscapeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesignExcellent problem-solving and consultation skills.Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models.Educationand Experience:Bachelor's degree in Architecture required, Master's degree preferred.Five years of relevant experience preferred.Active board licensure is required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Benefits:We love what we do, and we take care of our people.
