About the role

We are seeking a Locums Psychiatry Physician for a long-term, part-timeopportunity providing psychiatric care to developmentally disabled patientswith co-occurring mental health disorders. This position is ideal for acompassionate psychiatrist who enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team anddiverse patient population. Position HighlightsApproximately 16 hours per week, with some flexibility In-person office-based position — no remote option Long-term opportunity due to the departure of a current provider
Compensation: $ $220 - $230 per hour, depending on experience Approximately 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour day, depending on newevaluations and follow-ups ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental statusexaminations Diagnose and provide ongoing medication management Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration withclinical staff Treat adult and pediatric patients with developmental disabilitiesand co-occurring mental health conditions Common diagnoses include anxiety, depression, intermittent explosivedisorder, disruptive mood disorder, OCD, schizoaffective disorder, andbipolar disorder Review labs, diagnostic studies, and consultations as appropriate Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, clinicians, casemanagers, and other members of the care team Provide education and support to families and caregivers Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Participate in quality improvement and case review activities asneeded Complete legal or court-related documentation when required, including a small number of JV-220 cases RequirementsActive California Medical License Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult and/or Child Psychiatryby the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board certification strongly preferred; Board Eligible candidateswill be considered Board certification must be obtained within 5 years of residency Must be comfortable treating pediatric patients Eligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal certification Authorized to prescribe controlled substances Flu vaccination required, or approved medical/religious exemption COVID-19 vaccination required, or approved medical/religiousexemption Ability to document hours through the required timekeeping platform
