The role develops, validates, and implements pavement technologies and converts testing, research, and field evidence into pavement design guidance, software methods, technical documentation, training, and application approvals. This position is intended for an experienced pavement professional who can connect engineering analysis, research, validation, and field performance to practical Tensar pavement solutions.
What You'll Do: Identify and develop new pavement application technologies utilizing core Tensar products Identify and implement technical improvements to existing Tensar pavement systems and design methods Collaborate with technical engineers and research partners to develop, validate, test, and implement pavement technologies and design methodologies Analyze laboratory, accelerated pavement testing, and field-performance data and convert findings into pavement design guidance, software logic, and implementation recommendations Monitor competitor technologies, publications, design approaches, and performance claims Provide technical leadership for pavement design and implementation of Tensar products within flexible, rigid, industrial, maintenance/interlayer, foundation, and specialty pavement solutions Independently manage application technology development projects
What You'll Need: Minimum 8 years of combined experience and education in civil engineering. A focus on pavement design or geotechnical engineering preferred Expertise in pavement design and analysis, including linear elastic, mechanistic, empirical, and mechanistic-empirical methods Working knowledge of pavement engineering, soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, materials mechanics, and geosynthetics Experience with research, method development, testing, validation, and interpretation of engineering results Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion Approximately 20-30% domestic and international travel required Your Education Bachelors in Civil Engineering Required Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Pavement Engineering, or a closely related field requiredMBA preferred We are CMC, a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry.
