Brand Designer Modern Intelligence builds Sovereign, targeting software for unmanned systems. Manufacturers install it on UAVs, USVs, UUVs, and other unmanned vehicles. Sovereign runs on the vehicle's computer. It detects, classifies, and tracks targets from the onboard cameras, keeps identity when the picture breaks up, and can run terminal guidance into impact. It keeps working when GPS is out and the radio is jammed. We've held Department of War contracts, including work with Air Force Special Operations and SOCOM.We've raised more than $12 million from Bedrock, Vine, Contrary, Air Street, Caffeinated, Champion Hill, Swell, Myelin, and others. Modern Intelligence is hiring its first dedicated designer to set the future brand direction across all digital and physical media. Working with the executive team and marketing team, you'll produce the following: Brand book and guidelines Presentation decks Video artifacts and assets Social and campaign graphics The marketing site Product pages Sovereign's operator app UITrade-show booths and banners Digital and physical one-pagers MerchandiseThis role is on-site in Austin.
Requirements:
3+ years of professional experience as a designer (brand, visual, product, or hybrid), with shipped work in both digital and physical media.
A portfolio of shipped work: decks or presentations, web or product UI, and some print, booth, or environmental pieces.
Ability to design for a technical B2B or defense / dual-use product and explain choices to founders and engineers without design jargon.
Experience working with marketing and with founders acting as marketing, on campaigns, events, and a brand system.
Experience building digital pages with AI, such as standalone landing pages, product pages, a marketing site, or similar campaign pages.
Proficiency in Figma, Canva, and Photoshop, from concept through production files.
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). This role may work with export-controlled technology and controlled messaging.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience at a defense, dual-use, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, or deep-tech company, or an agency whose clients were in those spaces.
Prior or current title as Brand Designer, Visual Designer, Creative Designer, or a similar hybrid role.
Experience with marketing-site layout systems, component pages, and light UI polish for an operator or enterprise app.
Illustrator and InDesign for one-pagers, booth graphics, and merch.
Relationships with printers, booth fabricators, or production partners you would bring with you.
Presentation templates and masters in Google Slides and current AI presentation tools.
Short-form motion for social and campaigns in After Effects or Jitter.
Experience designing brand books and guidelines.
