Job Description: Interior Designer\n Chameleon Design | Costa Mesa, CA | Full-TimeWho We Are\n Chameleon Design is an award-winning interior design firm based in Costa Mesa. For over three decades, we have created model homes, luxury residential interiors, sales environments, clubhouses and community spaces for many of the country’s leading homebuilders and developers.\n We are a creative, fast-paced and collaborative company that genuinely enjoys what we do and the people we work with. We’re looking for an experienced Interior Designer who brings strong design ability, great organization and follow-through, and a desire to grow professionally.The Position\n This is a hands-on design position with the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, including luxury residential, model homes and community/commercial spaces.\n We’re looking for someone who can take creative direction and run with it. You should be comfortable sourcing furniture and lighting one day, working in AutoCAD or developing specifications the next, communicating with a contractor or vendor, preparing a client presentation, and ultimately seeing the project through installation.\n The ideal person is creative, resourceful, thorough and organized, with enough experience and confidence to take increasing ownership of projects over time.Responsibilities\n\n Participate in interior design projects from concept through completion\n Develop and execute design concepts with senior creative leadership\n Source furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, accessories, fabrics, finishes and materials\n Prepare AutoCAD drawings and design documentation\n Develop specifications, schedules and client presentations\n Work within established project budgets\n Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors and trades\n Track project details, open items, deadlines and outstanding decisions\n Participate in client meetings and project presentations\n Conduct site visits and assist with field and construction-related design issues\n Participate in project installations, including occasional overnight travel\n Work across luxury residential, model home and community/commercial projects as needed\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n 3+ years of professional interior design experience\n Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent design ability and visual judgment\n Proficiency in AutoCAD\n Strong FF&E sourcing and specification skills\n Experience with furniture, lighting, textiles, finishes, artwork and accessories\n Working knowledge of architectural drawings\n Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail\n Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities\n Excellent communication and presentation skills\n Professional and comfortable interacting with clients, contractors, vendors and other design professionals\n Self-motivated, resourceful and willing to take ownership\n Model home experience is a plus, but luxury residential, hospitality, multifamily or other relevant interior design experience will be considered\n Degree in Interior Design or related field preferred\n Must live within reasonable commuting distance of our Costa Mesa office\n\n Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is talented, capable, collaborative and fun to work with.
