3RD SHIFT CNC MACHINIST NEEDED - DUNDEE, MICHIGAN A Leading Automotive Supplier in Dundee, Michigan needs a 3rd Shift CNC Machinist. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a 3rd Shift Position with opportunities to work on a variety of complex machining projects in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision components.
- Edit and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
- Develop machining strategies that minimize setups while maximizing productivity.
- Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds appropriate for each job.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Dial indicators
- Vernier measuring tools
- Operate manual shop equipment including:
- Knee mills
- Surface grinders
- Manual lathes
- Band saws
- Hand tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.
- Work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first workplace.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3–5+ years of CNC Machining Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC equipment.
- CNC programming or CNC / CAM editing experience.
- Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
