About the role
Maintenance Manager Jenison, MI | Full-TimeWe're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and help us continue improving the reliability and performance of our manufacturing operation. We're a smaller manufacturing company, which means this isn't a role where you'll be removed from what's happening on the floor. We need someone who is comfortable being hands-on, working closely with Production, and leading the day-to-day maintenance operation while also helping us build for the future. We're looking for someone who can take a fresh look at how we're doing things, strengthen our preventive maintenance practices, address repeat equipment failures, develop our maintenance team, and help us make smart decisions about equipment and capital improvements.
What You'll Do:
Lead maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, facilities, and support systems.
Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related issues.
Identify recurring equipment problems and drive solutions that address the root cause.
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and support personnel.
Use our CMMS and maintenance data to improve planning, work execution, and decision-making.
Work closely with Production to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
Identify equipment that should be repaired, upgraded, modified, or replaced and support capital planning and CapEx projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
10+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or equipment service environment.5+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors, and material-handling equipment.
Experience managing preventive maintenance programs, work orders, and CMMS systems.
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
Experience with PLCs/industrial controls, Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or reliability-focused maintenance is a plus.
Who Will Be Successful HereWe're looking for someone who has led change, not just managed maintenance.
The right person will know how to assess what's working, identify what isn't, determine what needs attention first, and get the team behind the changes that need to happen.
If you enjoy solving problems, developing people, improving equipment reliability, and being able to see the impact of your work on the plant floor, we'd like to talk with you.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
