Position Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) – Electrical with 6–15 years of MEPconsulting or building systems design experience to join an expanding electrical engineeringteam. This is a hands-on project leadership position with the opportunity to take ownership of projects from schematic design through construction administration, provide technical direction to electrical engineering staff, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients and design partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design and production of construction documents using Revit/BIMworkflows.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and electrical system sizingacross a range of building types.
- Serve as the Engineer of Record (EOR) and sign and seal construction drawings.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining project quality andclient expectations.
- Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines.
- Support construction administration activities, including:o Site visitso RFI reviewo Submittal reviewo Punch-list activitieso Construction coordination
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level electricalengineering staff.
- Participate in internal quality-control and quality-assurance processes.
- Maintain current working knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes, including FBC, NEC, and NFPA.
- Communicate directly with clients, architects, contractors, and other projectstakeholders.
- Contribute to the continued development of electrical engineering processes andcapabilities.
Qualifications:
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida required.
- 6–15 years of experience in MEP consulting, electrical engineering, or building systemsdesign.
- Demonstrated experience serving as an Engineer of Record with sign-and-sealresponsibility.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with Revit/BIM-based electrical design and documentation.
- Experience with commercial, multifamily residential, institutional, or mixed-useprojects.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building systems.
- Working knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA standards.
- Strong project coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary MEP/design environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide technical guidance to other engineersand designers.
- Interest in progressing toward team or department leadership. Preferred Project Experience Experience with one or more of the following project types is desirable:
- Commercial buildings
- Multifamily residential
- Institutional facilities
- Mixed-use developments
- Building systems design
