About the Role: Are you an experienced manufacturing leader with expertise in rubber processing? We are seeking a results-driven 3rd Shift Manufacturing Shift Managerto oversee our nighttime plant operations from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. In this role, you will lead a high-performing, multilingual team, maintain high safety standards, and optimize our end-to-end production cycle. Key Responsibilities: Production & Operations Leadership: Supervise 3rd-shift operations to ensure high efficiency, minimal downtime, and on-time delivery across all processing stages (mixing, extrusion, molding, curing, and finishing).Team & Safety Management: Mentor and direct supervisors, technicians, and operators. Strictly enforce HSE regulations, OSHA guidelines, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols while conducting thorough incident investigations. Bilingual Communication: Lead, instruct, and align team members in both English and Spanish to ensure smooth shift operations. Continuous Improvement & Quality: Partner with QA and R&D to drive process improvements, support new product launches, and uphold quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100).Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with Maintenance on preventive machinery care and align with Supply Chain on material needs, inventory, and capacity planning. Cost & Tech Oversight: Manage shift budgets, execute cost-saving initiatives, and assess modern technology upgrades.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on rubber manufacturing experience with proven supervisory/managerial leadership.
Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of rubber compounding, curing, and molding processes (compression, injection, transfer).
Language: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal communication).Quality Systems & Tech: Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949/AS9100 standards and proficiency in production planning software / MS Office.
Preferred Skills: Prior background in automotive, aerospace, industrial, or specialty rubber manufacturing. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certifications. Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SYSPRO, Oracle).Work Environment & Schedule
Shift Hours: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
Note: No shift differential applies. Environment: Standard manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heavy machinery, heat, noise, and raw rubber materials. Flexibility: Occasional extended hours or weekend shifts may be required during peak production cycles.
