Design Engineer – Actuation📍 Monroe, WA💼 6-Month Contract | Potential Extension We are seeking a Design Engineer to develop, plan, organize, and conduct complex design assignments supporting actuation systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design and analysis of mechanical systems and familiarity with testing hydraulic and electro-mechanical system components.
Responsibilities: Perform duties supporting new product and sustaining designs. Coordinate with Engineering and technical groups to develop, implement, monitor, and status assignments. Complete development, design, testing, and certification assignments for new designs and modifications. Develop creative and scientific alternatives to achieve desired outcomes. Create and improve designs using CATIA V5/V6 or SolidWorks, with an emphasis on modeling and drafting. Coordinate with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to resolve technical issues. Work with suppliers to discuss and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Coordinate work performed by Engineering support groups, Experimental, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management. Work with Product Support Engineering and production teams to resolve engineering problems and support new design concepts and changes.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Strong familiarity with CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software. Demonstrated technical and organizational leadership. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, both internally and externally.

  • Hydraulic actuators – internal locking and non-locking.
  • Hydraulic valves, reservoirs, accumulators, and pumps.
  • Hydraulic power packs.
  • Linear and rotary electro-mechanical actuators.
  • Ball screws, roller screws, and ACME screws.
  • Gears, splines, and planetary gear sets.
  • Electronic enclosures.
  • Manufacturing processes used for these types of products.
  • Materials and processes associated with these products.
  • Finishes and tolerances.
  • MMPDS material properties and SN curves.
  • Regulatory requirements for qualification and certification.
  • Vibration modes and testing.
  • Thermal considerations for components and systems.
  • Tests and methods used to qualify products.
  • Motors and controls.
  • Strong presentation skills.
