Manufacturing Weld Engineer The Manufacturing Weld Engineer position is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment and is comfortable taking the lead for weld engineering and manufacturing processes and continuous improvement activities. This position allows for cross organizational exposure with opportunity for advancement. If you enjoy utilizing your fabrication and analytical skills to solve problems and enjoy being creative, this may be the position for you.
Primary responsibilities: Developing weld solutions for current product and new product development within ASG Direct ownership of the welding work area, including safety, 5s, and job flow management/reporting. Analyzing the existing operations and initiating process improvements using time studies, line balancing, capacity analysis, and other tools Developing weld equipment and production cells including process maps, value stream mapping, and work instruction development Working with Product Engineering to provide prototypes and samples to customers as part of the CPQR process. Training operators on new processes and procedures Participating in New Product Development process to ensure that product designs incorporate Design for Manufacturing principles Performing cost analysis to support both New Product Development and existing equipment needs Maintaining system integrity for manufacturing product information Providing direction to maintenance team members as well as interns and technicians where required Education Requirements: BSME from an accredited college required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: 1 – 3 years fabrication, manufacturing or design engineering experience is required Confidence and experience around weld and robotic equipment is required. 4 - 5 years of weld process and/or robotics experience is required.
Skill Requirements: Metal working, welding, and mechanical assembly skills are required. Communicating effectively with management, teams, engineers, and the shop floor CAD/CAM software experience is required. (Solidworks is preferred) Excelling in problem solving, innovation, team participation, and self-motivation.
