Description:
As a PPC Field Representative at Verisk, you will serve as a trusted consultant to clients by evaluating and analyzing community fire protection capabilities and infrastructure. This role focuses on conducting comprehensive studies that support Public Protection Classification (PPC) assessments, enabling insurers and communities to better understand and manage risk. You will gather, analyze, and document critical information related to emergency communications systems, fire department operations, water supply capabilities, and building characteristics to ensure alignment with PPC requirements.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation & Field Analysis Consult with municipal officials, fire departments, and water authorities to collect and validate data related to fire protection services Conduct onsite evaluations and remote assessments of community fire protection systems Emergency Communications Evaluation Analyze communications resources and procedures related to fire alarm dispatch operations Assess system effectiveness, response protocols, and operational capabilities Fire Department Assessment Evaluate fire department equipment, staffing levels, training programs, and geographic distribution of resources Review operational readiness and alignment with industry standards and PPC criteria Water Supply & Infrastructure Analysis Assess water supply networks, including hydrant distribution and system reliability Perform or interpret hydraulic analysis to determine water system capacity and fire flow adequacy Evaluate overall infrastructure supporting fire suppression capabilities Data Collection & Documentation Compile, analyze, and document findings in detailed reports that support PPC classifications Ensure all documentation meets internal quality standards and client expectations Building & Risk Information Review Gather and evaluate relevant building data and property characteristics associated with PPC requirements Support risk assessment activities by providing accurate and actionable insights Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fire Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field Experience in fire protection systems, municipal services, water systems, or insurance risk xevrcyc assessment preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports Proficiency with data collection tools, mapping systems, and standard business software Ability to work independently in a field-based environment and manage territory-based responsibilities Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned territory Working Conditions Frequent travel to client locations, including municipalities, fire stations, and infrastructure sites Work conducted in both office and outdoor environments, occasionally in varying weather conditions Physical activity may include walking, climbing, and navigating field locations LI-MC1
