With 11 employees including four fully remote staff members the firm operates with a collaborative and technically rigorous culture. The President has been involved on a full-time basis since 2003 and most employees have been with the firm for 25 or more years. The firm holds weekly video calls to encourage team collaboration and prides itself on a philosophy of going beyond software output to truly understand and analyze the plans it administers. This is a firm where technical depth and long-term commitment are both expected and rewarded.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is seeking an experienced DB/DC Plan Administrator to join their growing team. The ideal candidate brings hands-on defined benefit and defined contribution administration experience and thrives in an environment that values genuine plan understanding over mechanical processing. This is a full A to Z soup to nuts administration role covering both defined benefit and defined contribution plans with an initial caseload of 80 to 100 plans evaluated and adjusted after the first year. The administrator serves as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of plan sponsor clients, financial advisors, and CPAs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and scrub census data and determine and confirm participant eligibility across both defined contribution and defined benefit plansCalculate employer contributions and top-heavy minimum contributions in accordance with plan provisions for DC plansCoordinate with actuarial team to obtain contribution calculations and valuations for defined benefit and cash balance plansPerform compliance testing including ADP/ACP testing, 401(a)(4) nondiscrimination testing, 410(b) coverage testing, and top-heavy testing across all employer contribution allocation methods including simple, permitted disparity, cross-testing, and new comparabilityReconcile plan assets and prepare annual trust accounting for both DC and DB plansPrepare and file Form 5500 and all related schedules including Schedule SB coordination for defined benefit plansPrepare annual plan valuations including benefit statements and participant account reportingProcess loan and distribution requests in compliance with plan documents and IRC requirementsPrepare plan amendments and restatements and work with legal and internal teams on plan document changesIdentify operational failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions through EPCRS programsMaintain regular professional communication with plan sponsors, accountants, financial advisors, and actuarial partnersManage an initial caseload of 80 to 100 DB/DC plans with evaluation and adjustment after the first yearREQUIRED EXPERIENCEMinimum 2 years of A to Z soup to nuts plan administration experience spanning both defined contribution and defined benefit plansBachelor's degree preferred Math, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or Finance preferredProficiency in all employer contribution allocation methods including simple, permitted disparity, cross-testing, and new comparabilityWorking knowledge of defined benefit plan funding concepts including coordination with actuarial teams on contribution calculations and valuationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality in all work productExcellent written and verbal communication skills with plan sponsors, accountants, and financial advisorsAbility to thrive in a team environment and contribute positively to a collaborative cultureProficiency in Microsoft ExcelAbility to work independently and manage a large and varied caseload with minimal supervisionPREFERRED EXPERIENCEASC experience preferred (not required) this is the firm's primary administration platformASPPA designations or active pursuit of designation QKA, QPA, CPC, or EA a meaningful plusCash balance plan experience strongly preferredExperience managing a combined DB/DC caseload of 80 or more plansExperience with plan document review and interpretation across both plan typesExperience with plan amendments, restatements, and EPCRS correctionsExperience coordinating with enrolled actuaries on Schedule SB preparation and PBGC filingsWHAT OUR CLIENT OFFERSAnticipated starting compensation of up to $100,000 contingent on experienceRemote work environment with hybrid options availableCollaborative and technically focused team culture with weekly video collaborationFirm that values long-term commitment most employees have 25 or more years of tenureAn environment that invests in genuine technical expertise and professional developmentOpportunity to be part of a respected second-generation independent TPA with over 50 years in the industryComprehensive benefits packageTo Apply: Please submit your resume and compensation expectations to Presented by Networks Connect |Recruiting Manager: Shawn Minor| 317-680-9485
