Role Description: The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Milwaukee, WI. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring timely month-end and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, analyze variances, reconcile accounts, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, improving financial processes, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, and experience with general ledger management and financial statement preparation. Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting in a corporate or manufacturing/retail environment. Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations, manage month-end and year-end close processes, and support internal and external audits. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus. Prior experience in a senior accounting or similar role; experience in footwear, apparel, or consumer products industries is beneficial. Intercompany sales and eliminations
