About CDLLife
CDLLife is one of the fastest-growing platforms in the trucking industry, connecting drivers, carriers, and technology through data-driven innovation. Our engineering team powers the systems behind millions of job matches, social interactions, and mobile app experiences that keep the driver community moving.
We're a small, collaborative team that values curiosity, growth, and impact over tenure. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love solving complex problems, and want your work to reach real people every day, you'll fit right in.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who ships. You'll build full-stack features for our products and APIs using Svelte, React, Node.js, MongoDB, and SQL, and you'll contribute to our React Native and Expo mobile apps.
You'll also own how that work gets to production. That includes our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure on GCP, edge and security configuration in Cloudflare, and the monitoring that tells us when something breaks.
We're investing heavily in agentic development. We use coding agents day to day and are building governed MCP connectors that let AI tools work safely with our data. You don't need to be an expert yet, but we want someone who's already experimenting with these tools and wants to help lead how our team uses them.
What You'll Do:
Design, build, and ship end-to-end features across web, APIs, and mobile apps.
Own deployment pipelines, environments, release processes, and keep them fast and reliable.
Manage and improve our GCP infrastructure, Cloudflare configuration, and observability (Sentry, logging, alerting).
Help build and harden internal agentic tooling, such as MCP servers, AI-assisted workflows, and access controls for AI tools touching production data.
Help set practical standards for how the team uses coding agents, including reviewing and verifying agent output and deciding what we trust agents to do.
Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Help evolve our architecture and tooling as we scale.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and supporting production systems.
Hands-on DevOps experience, such as building CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure transferable), and setting up monitoring and alerting.
Working knowledge of databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and REST API design.
Demonstrated curiosity with agentic tools. You use coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor in your own workflow and can talk concretely about what works and what doesn't.
Strong communication skills and comfort working in a small, hybrid team with broad ownership.
Nice to Have:
Experience building or integrating MCP servers, tool-calling, or LLM features in production.
Experience with Cloudflare (WAF, DNS, Workers) or similar edge platforms.
Experience with BigQuery or other data warehouses.
Experience with Svelte, React, React Native, or Expo.
Prior work in high-traffic or data-heavy web applications.
Why You'll Love Working Here:
Impactful work: Your code directly supports the livelihood of drivers and carriers nationwide.
Small team, big ownership: You'll shape both the product and the platform it runs on, from architecture to deployment.
Early-on agentic development: You'll help define how a real engineering team builds with AI, beyond demos.
Flexible hybrid schedule: We value collaboration but trust you to manage your work-life balance.
Supportive culture: We emphasize mentorship, curiosity, and mutual respect
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
