Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs specific duties that support patient care. These duties include cast application, technical procedures, direct and indirect patient care activities that are essential to providing comprehensive care to patients and contribute to the efficient operation of the clinic. Patient and family centered care (PFCC) at YNHH is demonstrated by working with patients and their families based on the 4 principles of PFCC: participation, dignity, and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, physicians, staff and support department personnel. Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse provides patient care.
Under the direction of the physician and/or the registered nurse, performs technical procedures which contribute to safe patient care.
Performs technical duties which contribute to safe patient care.
Participates in educational activities that contribute to patient care, staff education and self development.
Effectively contribute to the operational support of the clinic.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or GED; Orthopaedic or Medical Assistant certification preferredEXPERIENCETwo (2) years of Orthopaedic and/or Ambulatory experienceLICENSUREOrthopaedic Technician Certification preferableSPECIAL SKILLSMust have a knowledge of anatomy and skill in cast applicationPHYSICAL DEMANDRequires good manual dexterity; ability to use power equipment; assist with lifting patients, stand or walk most of work day and use good body mechanics.
