IT LeaderRole overview The team supports critical infrastructure for the largest clean energy provider in North America. The role combines deep technical skill, technical leadership, and a understanding of regulatory knowledge (NERC CIP is what they will have to learn).
Responsibilities: Manage enterprise firewall infrastructure, processing 450+ change requests a year with zero network impactOversee implementation and maintenance of 20,000+ firewall rules supporting NextEra Energy and FPL business operationsProvide technical leadership across multiple data centers and drive continuous improvementMentor and develop team membersDesign, plan, and deploy network infrastructure, and find and fix potential issues before they affect operationsPerform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis with advanced diagnostic toolsEnsure network operations comply with NERC CIP and other regulatory requirementsServe as Lead Firewall Engineer on critical IT-OT network segmentation projectsPerform quarterly Electronic Security Perimeter (CIP-005) compliance assessments across 120+ network segments and stay audit-readyDrive automation of firewall rule management, with zero security violations and zero customer impactHandle other job-related duties as assignedMust-have skillsPalo Alto firewallsCisco Nexus (NX-OS), Cisco Catalyst, and IOSAbility to multi-task projects, with strong interpersonal and analytical skillsStrong preferencesNERC CIP experience, especially CIP-005 / Electronic Security PerimeterExperience with IT-OT segmentationUtility, energy, or other regulated critical-infrastructure backgroundFirewall automation experienceArista switches (plus) Prior mentoring or lead experience
