Job Description: Join the team at King Pine Ski Area as a Ski/Snowboard Instructor and help guests of all ages discover the excitement of skiing and snowboarding. Instructors provide safe, fun, and positive learning experiences while helping students build confidence and develop their skills. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for skiing or snowboarding, and loves teaching and connecting with others, especially children and beginners.
Key Responsibilities: Teach skiing and/or snowboarding to guests of all ages and ability levels, with an emphasis on children and beginners. Provide instruction in a safe, fun, encouraging, and positive learning environment. Adapt teaching techniques to meet the individual needs and skill levels of students. Demonstrate proper skiing and snowboarding techniques and promote safe practices on the mountain. Communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and fellow team members. Maintain a professional, friendly, and welcoming attitude with guests. Follow all mountain safety policies, procedures, and instructional standards.
Qualifications: Solid intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability. Ability to ski or snowboard safely and confidently across varying terrain and snow conditions. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, outgoing personality with patience and a passion for teaching. Enjoy working with children, beginners, and guests of varying skill levels. Ability to ski or snowboard for extended periods while teaching lessons. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in changing weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, rain, and variable snow surfaces. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must successfully pass a background check required for working with children. PSIA/AASI certification preferred, but not required.
