About the role
Childcare StaffThis position is responsible for assisting the KIDS team by providing excellent care for children birth-5th grade during special events and weekly ministry gatherings. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers for meaningful service in First Orlando's Kids Ministry Provide high-quality care for children Create an atmosphere full of fun and relationship Create opportunities to encourage children to follow JesusEnsure all safety protocols are followed in your area Know, understand, and follow First Orlando SAFE guidelines at all times Ensure room setup is complete prior to accepting children Take steps to clean and put away items at the close of childcare Attend trainings as needed and/or required by the ministry Support all First Orlando NextGen global initiatives Other duties as assigned and needed based on event
Job Requirements:

- People Person - strong at building and maintaining relationships with kids and parents
- Tone Setter – positive interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach to KIDS ministry
- Change Agent - ability to improve processes
- Flexibility in schedule with weeknight and weekend required availability
- Support the mission and beliefs of First Orlando
- Love kids and families and strive to point them to Jesus
Education and Experience:
High School DegreePrior experience with childcare in a school, daycare or church setting
Physical Requirements:
The work is performed mostly in an indoor environment but may require being outside in the heat/weather during special events. While performing the duties of this job, the employee might be required to sit for long periods of time, walk, stand and squat; talk or hear both in person and by telephone; reach with hands and arms; and lift both children and objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
