Senior Corporate & Private Equity Associate (5–7 Years’)Charlotte, North Carolina$365,000 - $415,000 An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate & Private Equity Associate to join the Charlotte office of a highly regarded national law firm with a sophisticated and established private equity practice. The position is ideally suited to an experienced transactional attorney who has developed substantive private equity M&A experience and is now looking for greater responsibility in leading transactions, managing deal teams and working directly with sophisticated private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.
The Role: You will play a significant role in complex private equity and corporate transactions, including: Leading and managing private equity acquisitions and related M&A transactions. Advising private equity sponsors and portfolio companies throughout the transaction lifecycle. Drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, ancillary agreements and other transaction documentation. Managing due diligence processes and coordinating specialist workstreams. Advising on transaction structuring and commercial deal issues. Managing junior associates and coordinating deal teams. Working directly with clients, counterparties, investment professionals and other advisers. Supporting portfolio company add-on acquisitions, exits and other strategic transactions.
About You: The successful candidate will ideally possess:5–7 years' corporate transactional experience, with substantial private equity M&A exposure. Strong experience handling acquisitions for private equity funds. Demonstrated ability to take meaningful ownership of transactions. Experience managing or coordinating transaction teams. Excellent drafting, negotiation and project-management skills. Strong academic credentials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
