Role Description:
The Dance Instructor is a part-time, on-site role based in and around Arlington Heights, IL. In this position, the instructor leads children’s dance classes, demonstrating movements, teaching choreography, and maintaining an encouraging, inclusive atmosphere. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans, selecting age-appropriate music, setting up and organizing the teaching space, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. The instructor provides clear instruction and offers individual guidance. The role also involves preparing students to perform in a showcase performance for families in December and in May.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess skills in Dance Instruction and Dance Education to effectively teach structured, age-appropriate classes for ages 3 - 5 years. Candidates should possess skills in Teaching and Dance to guide learners of varying abilities and create supportive, engaging lessons. Candidates should possess familiarity with Music to select appropriate tracks and synchronize movement with rhythm. Experience working with children in group settings and an ability to manage classrooms in a positive, respectful manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, reliable, and punctual work style. Ability to demonstrate physical movements safely and maintain energy throughout multiple classes. Prior experience as a dance instructor or class assistant is preferred. Availability for part-time morning work with reliable transportation to class locations.
