Role Description:
The Dog Groomer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Cat Diggity Dog Salon in Hicksville, NY. The Dog Groomer will perform daily grooming services, including bathing, brushing, clipping, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and client requests. Responsibilities include safely handling pets of various sizes and temperaments, checking for basic skin and coat issues, and maintaining a clean, sanitary grooming area and equipment. The role involves greeting clients, reviewing service preferences, providing updates on their pets, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The Dog Groomer will also assist with appointment scheduling, recordkeeping, and working collaboratively with other team members to maintain smooth salon operations.
Qualifications:
Strong pet grooming skills, including bathing, clipping, trimming, and styling. Experience in pet care, with the ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Customer service skills to provide a welcoming, professional experience for clients. Clear communication skills for discussing grooming options, pet needs, and aftercare instructions. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and handle dogs safely, and follow safety protocols. Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment maintenance. Prior professional grooming experience or formal grooming training preferred. Willingness to work a consistent full-time schedule, including weekends as needed.
