About the role
Sterile Processing Technician Receives, inspects, disassembles, cleans, disinfects, decontaminates, assembles, packages, labels, and sterilizes reusable medical and dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established infection-control and sterile-processing standards. Operates sterilizers, washers, and related sterile-processing equipment; performs required biological, Bowie-Dick, and other quality-control testing; evaluates sterilization indicators; documents results; and reports contaminated loads or process failures for appropriate corrective or recall action. Maintains appropriate levels of sterile supplies for inpatient, outpatient, dental, and other patient-care areas by checking supply needs, rotating stock, exchanging and restocking carts, identifying and documenting shortages, and ensuring proper storage and transportation of sterile goods. Reassembles instruments and equipment, verifies functionality and sterilization effectiveness, prepares and loads carts, fills routine and emergency supply requests, tracks sterilized instruments and supplies using a computer, and maintains required processing and autoclave records. Advises healthcare personnel regarding the availability, substitution, and effective use of supplies and equipment and provides training or orientation on sterile-supply techniques and procedures while maintaining appropriate training records.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
