IGT is looking for a Game Development Manager to work in the Video Poker product line, which includes poker, keno, slot, blackjack, and roulette game types. This position will oversee a group of individual contributors who work primarily on the development of Video Poker products over a variety of roles including producers (project managers), artists, and technical artists. The position will require both analytical and creative acumen to facilitate the development of games deployed globally in gaming markets. This is a hybrid role based in Reno, Nevada. Candidates must reside in or relocate to Reno.
Responsibilities: Understand the roles of all team members during game development. Lead producer team by providing strategic direction and individualized guidance/feedback to each producer. Cultivate leadership and facilitation skills within the team through instilling a big picture vision in team members. Lead artists and technical artists by helping them prioritize work and make decisions based on the game's needs in the video poker context. Emphasize a thorough knowledge of the game development process and be familiar with features contained in current development projects. Assure this knowledge is a priority for the producer team. Monitor studio roadmap progress and risks to budgets and timelines while prioritizing game performance in the Video Poker market space. Consume and process data from various sources including to facilitate informed operational decisions. Provide updates on said data to studio leadership, product management partners, and finance. Work with studio managers and individual contributors to assure we maintain a positive culture. Understand the gaming industry as an environment for Video Poker products. Be aware of player and operator expectations of Video Poker within the overall slot floor context. Be familiar with the Video Poker library and the basics of Video Poker game development with specific knowledge of how it differs from other slot game development. Be able to explain these differences to IGT employees or customers unfamiliar with Video Poker.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred. Related gaming industry experience a plus.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of related work experience required. Studio experience preferred.
