About Masterworks: Masterworks is a fintech platform that allows anyone to invest in SEC-qualified shares of multi-million dollar paintings by names like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso. Since launching in April 2019, we have securitized over $1.5 billion in world-class artworks. Our employees are based out of our offices at 1 World Trade Center in the Financial District of New York City and our Art Gallery on the Upper East Side. Role: We’re looking for passionate, articulate, and resourceful tour guides for exclusive Masterworks member events at art galleries, museums, institutions, and artist studios in NYC. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with gallery directors, museum curators, artists, and high-net-worth investors, collaborating with the Masterworks team and providing boots-on-the-ground feedback to help shape future events. This role requires excellent speaking skills, knowledge of Post-War and Contemporary art and market, and the ability to do in-depth research. Scope of Work: For each event, you will be responsible for delivering a 20-30 minute guided tour on the subject of the exhibition. Events: Previous events include private tours of Hans Art and Lee Bul at Hauser & Wirth New York, Gerhard Richter: Landschaften at David Zwirner, and Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers at the Guggenheim Museum. Our events are typically 60-90 minutes in length.
Location: NYCFrequency: 2x-3x/ week. From 5-6PM or 6-7PM
Compensation: $100/event
Requirements: Background in the art world or art market is a must Availability to organize and deliver 2-3 in-person events per week Ability to research and shape a tour in short time frame during exhibition run Availability to join weekly calls with Masterworks Events in preparation for upcoming events
