Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Edison Smart Smart World Team Leader - Smart Buildings & Building Automation Recruiter - US and UK | Edison Smart are partnered with a growing MEP Consultancy located in Washington DC who are actively looking to hire a BAS (Building Automation Systems) Design Engineer to join their team. Key Responsibilities Develop control system designs, sequences of operation, and BAS specifications for commercial and institutional buildings. Collaborate with MEP teams to integrate BAS with HVAC, lighting, and other building systems. Review and interpret project requirements, client standards, and relevant codes. Perform design calculations, equipment selection, and control strategy development. Support construction administration by reviewing submittals, conducting site inspections, and addressing RFI responses. Stay current with emerging BAS technologies, cybersecurity considerations, and industry best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or related field). 5+ years of BAS design experience within an engineering consultancy or contracting environment. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and networked building systems. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and commissioning processes.
