About the role

The Work: You will review video of robotic arms completing assigned tasks and create consistent training data. Your judgments will help identify successful actions, failures, and the likely causes of incorrect robot behavior. The work combines detailed video annotation with practical knowledge of robot motion, grasping, perception, sensors, and system integration. Watch robotic arm recordings and annotate actions and events. Mark where actions and events begin and end in each session. Evaluate correct and faulty behavior, including missed grasps, dropped objects, poor paths, and inaccurate positioning. Apply the same annotation rules across repeated video sessions. Escalate unclear or borderline cases instead of guessing. Explain likely causes of robot failures using robotics and system-integration knowledge. Suggest improvements when guidelines have gaps or cause repeated confusion. Complete assigned annotation volume on time while meeting the required quality standard. What It Pays and Takes This is a remote, part-time contractor role for people who can review technical video carefully and apply written guidelines consistently. The listing is marked entry level, but hands‑on experience with robotic arms or robotic systems is required.
Pay: $50 to $90 per hour.
Time: 20 or more hours per week.
Location: Remote, with eligibility limited to the countries specified for this role.
Language: English.
Background: Robotics, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Hands‑on work with robotic arms or robotic systems in industry, research, or laboratory settings. Knowledge: Robot motion control, grasping, perception, sensors, and system integration.
Skills: Distinguishing correct from faulty robot behavior in video, close attention to detail, precise guideline following, and clear communication with a remote team. Helpful but not required: Previous video annotation or data‑labeling experience. Prior AI experience is not required. About AI Training Work OpenTrain is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. AI training work uses human‑reviewed examples, such as labeled video and behavior judgments, to help artificial intelligence systems learn; people with technical knowledge are paid to make those judgments accurate and consistent.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
